Le numéro 7 est à présent chromé, un sticker Moto-Guzzi rouge est posé sur le flanc des jantes le liseret rouge cerclant les plaques à numéros a disparu et le noir a gobé certaines pièces chromées (les rétros, les platines de fixation de silencieux, le cache de boite à air). On compte pas moins de 70% de nouvelles pièces, aussi bien à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur. Les ailettes des culasses adoucissent leurs bords puis se recouvrent d'un nouveau couvre-culasse franchement plus classe. La bougie en profite pour se cacher et le rapport volumétrique pour augmenter ; il passe à 10.2:1. Dans les cylindres, beaucoup a été revu : nouvelles chambres de combustion, nouveaux pistons et segments, et admission modifiée. Celle-ci se fait désormais via un seul corps d'injection de 38 mm. Le flux gazeux passe dans une section en Y pour alimenter les deux gamelles. En sortie, on trouve une sonde lambda pour chaque cylindre. Outre une conso améliorée, ce bloc révisé annonce de meilleures performances, avec 48 chevaux désormais et plus de 6 mkg de couple. La boite de vitesses annonce elle aussi un mieux en agrément. Et le moins que l’on puisse dire, c’est que cet exercice de café racer se remarque, de près comme de loin. Il l’avait d’ailleurs déjà fait lorsque ce n’était qu’un concept-bike présenté à l’EICMA. Aguicheur, pimpant, il a tellement emballé le peuple que Guzzi l’a à peine retouché avant de lui donner vie en série pour le plus grand bonheur des amateurs de belles machines. Car avouons-le, cet engin a de la gueule. Un très joli travail de customisation, à mi-chemin entre le café-racer et le tuning.
